Grimace Shake Review – On June 6, McDonald’s announced that it would launch the limited-time shake to honour Grimace, the character from Grimace’s comic book, who celebrates his 52nd birthday. The release date is June 12.
It is a “Grimace Birthday Meal”, according to the name of the brand”Grimace Birthday Meal, “comes and includes the option of the Big Mac(r) or a 10-piece chicken McNuggets(r) and the world-famous Fries and, of course, a purple shake.
Following the announcement, the shake was widely questioned about the taste of the shake. Some media outlets reported that the shake was flavorful of berries (the exact kind or varieties of berry was not stated); McDonald’s itself gave no hint of flavour, saying in its press release that the shake was “inspired by Grimace’s famous flavour and colour.”
The nutrition details of the shake could be more helpful. McDonald’s states that the shake has “Natural flavour” and “Vegetable Juice,” though it’s listed as a colour additive.
In later reviews, it was noted that this drink possesses an intense berry taste, with a Delish staffer describing it as “the most delicious berry smoothie you’ve ever had in your life.”

Who is Grimace?
“Grimace originates born on Grimace Island and comes from an enormous family (including his Grandma Winky, aunts Millie and Tillie and Uncle O’Grimacey! ),” McDonald’s shares with TODAY.com. (Uncle O’Grimacey used to be one of the Shamrock Shake’s characters.)
McDonald’s claims that his birth date was June 13 (the day that the brand-new purple shake went on sale). He made his debut appearance in a McDonaldland commercial in 1971. He was dubbed “Evil Grimace”,” walking off in a Hamburglar-style and accompanied by milkshakes.
Grimace’s origin story is the vast hairy, blob-shaped, purple McDonald’s character that we all recognize as well as … are we able to love? It’s remained a debated mystery.
What is he, ” an enormous taste bud,” ” the perfect representation of a milkshake,” something to relate to ” the face you make when you’re angry about something”? Discuss!
But, regardless of what Grimace’s name or background could be, McDonald’s is allowing us to celebrate by throwing him the most lavish birthday party, which includes food, games, a special outfit and gifts.
Grimace Shake Reviews by Customers
From June 12 at participating locations across the country as long as supplies last. McDonald’s will offer a “Grimace Birthday Meal” with a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, fries and the best part of the event. This exclusive purple shake claims to be “inspired by Grimace’s iconic colour and sweet.”
We had a sneak preview of the light-purple Grimace shake, and it’s similar to cereal milk with berries, frosting and sprinkles are thrown into the mix. We love that it’s not overly sweet and reminds us of the joy of a child’s birthday party.
Alongside the special dinner and birthday celebrations, the festivities also include the launch of a no-cost Grimace-themed online game and Grimace-themed merchandise as well as the “in place of presents” request to contribute to the charity Ronald McDonald House Charities, which assists families who are in need.
Grimace could not imagine the better way to commemorate his birthday than inviting fans to take part in his giving to people in need”, McDonald’s noted in a press announcement.
On the 13th and 14th of June, when users share photos of their birthdays via”add yours” on the “add the hashtag of your choice” stickers on McDonald’s Instagram account McDonald’s will donate $5 up to $200,000 to RMHC.
“Our fans have wonderful childhood memories of birthdays spent at McDonald’s … as well as Grimace’s birthday is all about paying tribute to the incredible, fun times that we all share,” Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s America’s chief marketing and customer experience executive in a statement.
“We’re eager to put the modern spin on these experiences to ensure McDonald’s enduring appeal to a new generation. Grimace is the ideal lovable image to let McDonald’s meet our customers at the crossroads of nostalgia and art.”
What about the origin story? McDonald’s needs to be more relaxed regarding what exactly Grimace is. However, it has provided an insight into his background: “Grimace is from Grimace Island and is a member of a large family (including his grandma Winky and his aunts Millie as well as Tillie and uncle O’Grimacey!)
Our beloved best friend has become an instant fan favourite due to his signature shaggy purple hairstyle with a friendly and fun character, a love of shakes, and his ambiguous nature.”
Grimace is, naturally, a kind guest and brought a variety of shakes to test. What’s the conclusion? It’s delicious!
Conclusion – Grimace Shake Review
A swirl of vanilla berries reminds us of the vibrant yoghurt cups we loved as kids. Our director of operations for content Lindsey Ramsey described it as “the most delicious berry smoothie of the year.”
Although it’s not something we’d like to drink regularly, the shake is a treat for special occasions.
